In the low range the folds flip between thick and thin; the contraction isn't stable yet.

In One Sentence

In the low range (mean F0 below roughly 250Hz) with pitch roughly steady, fold thickness (H1-H2) swings back and forth within about a second — the contraction (the main force keeping the folds thick) isn't stable yet.

How to Read It

Watch the Fold Balance chart in the low range. If the thickness needle keeps swinging — low notes alternating between solid and thin — that's the hint.

Why Does This Happen?

CauseDescription
Unsteady thick vibrationThe heavy mode can't be maintained; the voice flickers
Unsteady breath supportWhen airflow wobbles, thickness wobbles with it
Breathy low-note habitBouncing between thick and airy
