Vocal Science Principle

Insufficient compression — the voice lacks high-frequency energy and projection power.

Detection criteria:

  • SPR (Singing Power Ratio) below threshold (default < -12 dB)
  • NAQ (Normalized Amplitude Quotient) above threshold (default > 0.25)
  • Low SPR combined with elevated NAQ indicates the vocal folds are not compressing airflow effectively, resulting in a lack of high-overtone energy and poor vocal projection.
