๐ Vocal Health & Protection
Singing is a "sport". Just as you warm up before a run and stretch afterwards, your voice deserves care before and after singing.
๐ฅ Before Practice: Warm Up
Click the ๐ Warm-Up / Cool Down button on the left side of the toolbar, and SonaLab will guide you through a warm-up routine.
Analogy
๐ Like warming up before exercise. You wouldn't open with an all-out sprint โ your voice shouldn't open with top notes either. Wake the folds gently with soft exercises first.
Recommended warm-up sequence:
- Lip trills (brrr) โ relax the lips and face
- Humming (mm~) โ gently wake up the vocal folds
- Slides (low to high and back) โ stretch the folds
- Simple scales โ ease into full voice
โ๏ธ After Practice: Cool Down
When you're done, run a cool-down routine to help the folds recover.
- Gentle humming โ let the folds "cool down" slowly
- Sigh-like phonation (hah~) โ release throat tension
- Sip warm water โ keep the folds hydrated
- Rest quietly for 10-15 minutes โ let the folds fully recover
