⚙️ Engine View

This group of charts shows you "how your voice is produced". Like a car's engine monitor, it tells you the RPM, how deep the throttle goes, and whether the exhaust flows freely.

Analogy

🚗 Picture your voice box as an engine: the vocal folds are the "cylinders", airflow is the "fuel", and sound is the "exhaust". The Engine View is this engine's dashboard.

🎵 Pitch — What Note Are You Singing?

This gauge tells you the name of the note you are singing (e.g., C4, A3) and how far off it is.

Analogy

🎯 Like the bullseye in archery. Needle dead center = spot-on pitch; leaning left or right = a touch flat or sharp.

🫘 TA/CT Balance — The "Thickness Dial" of Your Voice

Analogy

🎸 Think of guitar strings. Thick strings (TA) sound deep and rich; thin strings (CT) sound bright and slender. Your vocal folds are like a single string that can grow "thicker or thinner". The slider tells you which way your folds are leaning right now.

Tip

When you sing higher, the cursor naturally drifts to the right. That's normal! The key is a smooth transition — no sudden "jumps".

🤝 Vocal Fold Closure — How Tight Is the Tap?

Closure tells you whether your vocal folds come together exactly as much as they should.

Analogy

🚿 Picture your vocal folds as a faucet. Screwed too tight (extrinsic compensation) = the flow chokes and the sound squeezes; too loose (insufficient closure) = water gushing out and the sound goes airy. The sweet spot is "just right" — the flow runs smooth and strong.

🏊 Depth — The "In-the-Water" Feel of Your Voice

Depth measures how "sunk-in" and "in-the-mic" your voice is. A voice with good depth sounds full and has real presence.

Analogy

🔔 Strike a big bell vs. a small handbell. The big bell rings deep and full (good depth); the handbell is crisp but thin (not enough depth). Depth is how much "big bell" there is in your voice.

💎 Singer's Formant Monitor — The Carrying Power of Your Voice

The Singer's Formant Monitor measures whether your voice can "cut through" the accompaniment and reach the listener clearly.

Analogy

📢 In a noisy restaurant, some people you can always hear clearly (good formant) while others get drowned in the din (insufficient formant). The singer's formant is that "carrying power" in a voice.

🌊 Waveform · Loudness · Onset

Waveform — the "EKG" of your sound. Bigger waves = louder sound; denser waves = higher pitch.

Loudness — a simple volume meter. Green = healthy, red = too loud.

Onset Detective — every time you start a note, your vocal folds go through a "start-up" moment. The Onset Detective checks whether that start-up is healthy.

Analogy

👏 Think of clapping. A hard smack (hard onset) = the sound attacks; hands gliding together to meet (balanced onset) = the sound starts naturally; hands slowing to a feather-touch (soft onset) = the sound comes out airy.
